Gothic Quarter of Barcelona

The Gothic Quarter, or Barri Gòtic, is the historic heart of Barcelona's old city. This labyrinthine quarter dates back to Roman times and is characterized by narrow medieval streets filled with trendy bars, clubs, and Catalan restaurants. The district stretches from La Rambla to Via Laietana and from the Mediterranean seafront to Ronda de Sant Pere, forming part of the larger Ciutat Vella district. It's known for its historic buildings, including the Barcelona Cathedral, and lively squares such as Plaça Reial and Plaça de Sant Jaume, where the city hall is located.
